Weekend in Johannesburg

In order to get a better perspective of the history of South Africa, we headed to the Apartheid Museum this weekend in Johannesburg which illustrates the rise and fall of apartheid, with extensive coverage of Nelson Mandela's imprisonment, release and Presidency.  Each visitor is given a ticket with White or Non-White on it which determines the door you walk through and initial experience.  The museum is a powerful journey through 1948 to 1994 and the racial segregation enforced by the National Party - filled with personal stories of those effected.  If you are ever in the area, I highly recommend it.  We also took a drive around the surrounding townships before packing up for Tshwane.
